http://castbulletassoc.org/view_user.php?id=5654>bandmiller2 No, Externally they look the same but the alloy and internal design are different. The shotgun receiver will not withstand rifle pressures. The Topper combo was available in shotgun and  a few low pressure calibers. The identifier is model SB1 is shotgun and model SB2 is high pressure . You can easily see the difference by removing the butt stock and looking. The SB2 is a much stronger alloy and less metal needed for high pressure:

Thanks Gary, the topper receiver appears to be cast iron, malleable I hope. Frank C.

When H&R was still running the 'accessory barrel' program you could get a barrel fitted to your SB1 frame in a couple/few pistol cartridges. I'm still kicking myself for not getting more barrels, especially a .280 Rem 26"er. Coulda been reamed to AI. Yeehaw! Now an H&R in 30-30 is a valuable item, scarce too.
