I have an opportunity to buy one of these rifles and was wondering if anyone with experience loading for these rifles can tell me what they got for nominal bore and groove dimensions. Thanks in advance.~AMMOe

Andre, Thanks for the reply. I have a 527 American in 22 Hornet that is one of my most accurate rifles. I have never loaded cast for it, either. I am interested in this 7.62x39 so I can cast for it.~AMMoe

Is it a CZ? I don't suppose you got around to slugging the bore yet, have you?? Curious.~AMMOe

Both of my CZ 527s slug at .310. I size to .311 and have had my best accuracy/velocity combination with 1680. I am getting ready to test IMR 4895 with 170 grain 311314. I passed thru Hardin while returning from Wyoming several days ago. We need to get together one of these days. Neil

Give me some notice and I'll buy you a cup of coffee!

Say. I was in Billings yesterday and that Carbine is still there, with the box for $500. Checked out the MSRP: Yikes! Makes 5 C's look like a good deal.

Thanks for the info on the bore and groove. I can make it work...~AMMOe

to AMMOe I hope you got that CZ527. I got mine before I got involved in the black art of casting.Iput a two and a half power Leupold scope on it,loaded it to about 2100 fps with a Speer 123 gr sp bullet of 311 dia. and never looked back. it does a number on western SD mule deer. Try a 313 dia cast lee 170g bullet with only 6 gr unique for some 100 yd fun. reguards..Tom K. Tea SD

Tom

Does your Bride know you are online with her computer to a bullet casting forum? :P

That CZ527 is a really neat little gun in 7.62X39. I've shot that one of Tom's a few times and it is a tack driver.

Liked it so well I had to go look for a 7.62X39 bolt gun myself, although I ran across a Ruger M77 in 7.62X39 that they made for a few years and picked that up. It also shoots CB's very well.

Howdy ... if a ” good deal ” attracts you, be aware that $500 is about 60$ under the current street price for a very pretty rifle.

just some trivia .. ken campbell, iowa
