I am setting up a used Mag II press.  It is sound and not worn out.  Will this press handle commom cast bullet chores like nose first sizing and check seating?

Also I am considering a second cheaper press to add to my bench for quick jobs and depriming. no case forming!  Does the little open frame Lee press handle such chores without springing the frame?

I have one of the small Lee open frame presses. I use it to prime and deprime cases. I also take it to the range when I want to reload at the bench. It does fine.

I have the least expensive Lee Challenger single stage "C" press as a second press and use it for just as you ask about from .223 to .458 Win Mag. and .500 S&W Mag with zero problems in very many thousand cycles.

I have also used this press routinely for full length sizing brass after annealing large batches of brass many times. I size/check all my cast bullets with the Challenger using the Lee nose first Lee Lube and SIze Kits also and It just keeps working and I have had no problems with it. My 500 S&W brass takes more arm strength to size than my .458 WM and the Challenger has no problem with either.

The T-Mag II is strong enough to handle the chores you mention and much, much more.

I too have a Lee Breach Lock Press ("c" press) and have used it for about 20 years or more to handle everything I have thrown at it. It is mounted to a small piece of wood and I c-clamp down when in use. It is my travel press and as I said served well. I would not consider it for a primary press unless I was only using it for low production. But for a second or back-up press, it is great.
