I'm beginning to load cast for 7mm International Rimmed (in two rifles - Ruger #3 heavy barrel and a Martini Cadet).  So putting the 7mm Int Rim next to the 7mm IMHSA (in a XP100) I note the striking similarity in case volumes.

With the superb trigger in the XP100 I'm starting to load for it too!  Anyone else?  Experiences?

One of our local CBA BR match shooters used that chambering (7mm IHMSA-X) at our 10 July match. It was a 168-grain RCBS bullet and AA 5744 powder. His is a center grip version of the XP-100. He did well with it considering that the center grip version can be a challenge off the bench. Don't know if it is a factory trigger or an after-market type.

I have or have had bothe at one time or another years back. The 7IHMSA and 7 Int R are NOT the same or even close! If memory serves me correct the 7 IHMSA was done to give the 7BR more steam to take over full footed Rams at 200m The 7R came about to rechamber and clean up the longish throat on the factory 7TCU barrels, thus the long neck.

There is data out there, but a lot of powders used then may be discontinued or hard to find now.

Once again going off of memory. A start load minus 10% for a 7-08 would be ball park. The 7R can use 7TCU data. Both being wildcats and old ones at that, you enter at your own risk so to speak. Not that I ever found them hard to work with. Wildcats are not for beginners going in alone. Jeff

7mm T/C U. All I ever loaded was jacketed hot stuff.  My lead loads are all light as I can't  handle recoil anymore. LYMAN #287405 Loverin is all that shoots well. 14" T/C bbl, Leupold 2.5X8 pistol scope.  12.5grs of UNIQUE, Heck off a lotta drop at 100yrds. And she recoils soft & gentle like a Mothers Kiss.

I also drool in my sleep. I firmly believe that true happiness is a warm gun. Did I mention how much I HATE auto-correct on this blasted tablet.

My project has expanded a bit.  I've been casting with the NOE 288-132 in gc and pb.

So, I'll be trying them out in:

14" T.C. in 7mm TCU,

14" XP100 in 7mm IMHSA,

24" Martini Cadet in 7mm Int Rim,

and 24" in Rem 700 in 7-08.

Lots of range time coming up.  well over 600 bullets cast, need to be sized, brass Is waiting.

Unique is my go-to powder to start things off.  Fire forming the 7mm I.R. did well with 6gr and same sight setting at 25 and 100yards.
