The Shiloh Rifle forum has a Postal match underway. The categories are:

Black Powder Cartridge, iron and scope

.22 rifle, iron and scope

Military, issue rifle with iron sights, large bore and small bore

For each event:

200 yards

10-round group (you measure it and report the size)

Any powder, any position

Picture of fired target and rifle set-up (bench, x-sticks, prone, etc.) along with load and rifle info needs to be submitted with the two photos.

As with any Postal it’s an honor system. But it gets you out shooting and seeing how others are doing. There is no required specific target but many of the shooters are using the Wyoming Scheutzen Union target. You’ll see examples of the targets and fired groups when you visit the site and subject, under “Shooter to Shooter”.

I shot (3) targets for the Nov./Dec. version and will do at least one for Jan./Feb. if only the temperature will creep up a bit,

This was done for Nov. and Dec. in 2019.

This current one is called the “2020 Frostbite 200 yd Postal” and is underway for the combined months of Jan. and Feb.

Slight diversion from topic:  The Wyoming Schuetzen Union target is great.

I like it for sighting in for CBA Military matches. In the Pacific Northwest, these matches are often shot under gray skies. The military target does not show hits in the black that well under these conditions. And there is no requirement for using a military target as a sighter.

Saying this, it is time to order another set for the coming season. These will work very well for the above match.

Got mine from SPG black piwder bullet lube company.

They are reversible. One side has a larger red bull area than the other. Scope shooters like the smaller dark (red) area side. Scoring rings on both sides are the same value.

There are two offerings, be careful to order the larger targets.

I initially ordered 100 targets and was called. The shipping charges were more than the targets and they wanted to know why I was ordering so many.  They recommended ordering the basic 25 due to shipping costs.
