I just got a New LEE 6cav mold; 311-93-2R. Plan on using it for .32S&W Long for my friend's S&W 31 & .32H&R for my RUGER SSM.  I'll cast a few pure lead slugs to check our bore dia. And cylinder mouths.  But anyone have an idea what sizes I'll find ?

I have several each of both Colts and S&Ws in .32 S&W Long and .32 Colt New Police. In Colts and S&Ws expect cylinder throats of .314-.315, barrel groove diameters of .312-.313” and bore diameters of .301-.303" Get the Lee .314 push-through sizer and you are usually good to go with the Colts and S&Ws.

The Ruger SRMs vary depending upon when they were made, early ones having cylinder throats as tight as .310 and some as big as .315, but .3125-.3135 is a good average range for recent production with barrel groove diameters .310-.3125 and bore diameters .300-.3025. With the Ruger you may want to try a Lee .311 sizer then hone to size to match your cylinder throats, probably .312".

Ed,

If ya don't mind a personal request for additional information. I also bought a LYMAN #311252 for our respective Savage 1907 & Pre-War PP. I have the correct nose punch for both bullets. Have also a .309 LubeSizer die. I'm just a bit leary about pounding a slug down the bbl of either gun.

I have a couple Savage 1917s (one .32 & .380) and have shot them both without any hesitation. I also have 3 .32 S&W revolvers, all having cylinder throats between .313-.314.

Typical .32 ACP chambers are “sloppy” enough that cast bullets of .312” diameter function in most. Most factory jacketed bullets are of this diameter. I have a bunch of .32 ACP pistols having varied groove diameters ranging from .308 to .313 and I shoot .312 bullets in all of therm with satisfactory results.

If you already have a .309 size die, it won't hurt to try a few.  If they shoot well and the barrel doesn't lead, you are good.  If accuracy is “poor", 3” or more at 50 feet, with bore leading and possibly keyholing bullets, then you already know the answer... A .311-.312 sizer

Ed is right on .32 chambers being sloppy. I have a Browning 1910/1955 .32 acp and it is .310". I also have a MAB model D in .32 acp and it is .314".
