Went shooting today. I set my 10" gong at 100yds. There was a bunch of trash there(our local range looks like a garbage dump-shamefull) including a blue enamel plate that the previous person missed. It was unscathed. So I got the bright idea to set it and some glass shards under the gong. The splatter from my 200 grn bullets pushed by 30 grns 4895 completely destroyed that plate and the glass. The glass was gone. The plate was stripped of all enamel, warped, dented and pierced , by the splatter. Gave me a new respect for the shrapnel created by a bullet hitting anything.

Recall a long departed club member telling me how one club shoot he sit up rimfire sillywets inside a cardboard carton.  The lead splatter eventually cut the box in half.

Cheers from New Zealand

sillywetts is a mis-spelling of silowetts, if use guys would proof read there woodint be misteaks like that!

Just an aside of the original incident. Besides all the very violent damage to the metal plate, I found one gas check. It was flatter than a sheet of paper , had 4 tears where the lip splayed out and there was a dab of lead fused to the center just as strong as if it were soldered.
