Just a little over a week ago when NOE had their customer appreciation sale going on where you got 20% off your order, I just had to bite. I order a 315-89-WC PB 3 cavity mold for my .32 S&Ws & my ,32 S&W Long revolvers. I also order a 225-70-RN 2 cavity with 1 GC & 1 PB. I was anticipating the delivery soon, because Al is fast on the delivery. However my phone rang and it was Al on the other end. He asked me how I was doing and I replied, “as well as expected". I then said, “Al, how are you doing and he replied, “about as good as a fat man could be just sitting here". We shared a brief laugh before getting down to business. Al told me he had screwed up with the eventory, his own words, and that he did not have my 225-70-RN 2 cavity to ship. We both paused a minute, and he said, ” How about I send you a 4 cavity 2PB & 2GC at no extra charge". I said, “Al, hell, you don't give me much of a choice, I'll take that 4 banger". He said good and it, along with the other one would be on the way. We both hung up satisfied.I sat there a moment, pondering what had just occurred. My conclusion, just the best customer service in the cast bullet mold world. Al is a man of fine character and is as cheerful of a guy as can be to talk to. Not to mention he makes some mighty fine molds and that's why I keep coming back, filling my shelves with more NOE molds.

Now with all that mentioned, I have to add that I have never had an issue with any small or custom mold maker. We have other great makers and services such as Mountain, Brooks, NEI, Accurate, Hoch, Arsenal, LBT, MP & Hollow Point Services. They all have provided exceptional service and I have never heard a complaint about any of them. In addition most, if not all have been or are supporters of the CBA. Please repay their support with your business anytime you can.

One other thing I didn't mention is that Al / NOE is a supporter of the CBA.  That is very cool.

My two cents.  He has great molds and service.  The molds I have cast perfect bullets and not any break in time. Im working on a 22 hornet. That little slug is hard to cast to get a great bullet, but the mold is great with hardly any culls.  Some other items he has are neck expander dies. What a great way to get the correct neck tension.  good price great workmanship.

One more of Al's molds and I will be a member of the $1000 club.  Hoping he does another run of his 452-500 paper patch mold...

Just a quick not to the other folks, besides the quality products, NOE is one of few places where the descriptions of the moulds include the specific dimensions.  Being a techy kind of a guy I appreciate knowing exactly what I'm getting.

I started this thread because of the fantastic service Al has given me, but I know I am not special. He is just a good person who wants to serve the needs of his customers. What needs to be said is more on the support we receive from other mold makers. Many CBA members are not aware of the support we receive from these other makers. The following is list of the mold makers currently supporting the CBA directly in various ways:

Lee Precision
Mountain Moulds
NOE Molds
Accurate Molds

Those makers not on this list are not to be diminished, as they may not have been asked to support the CBA, but if asked would probably do so without hesitation. Others such as Lyman, LBT, Hoch and more have the CBA in the past.

We bad mouth Lee from time to time, but take into consideration the following three facts: 1) most casters start with Lee molds and without them we might be a part of a diminishing sport and 2) even experience casters look to Lee from time to time for a mold to fill their need and 3) we still see a Lee bullet a part of a winning match recipe in our match results.

Lee has produced many innovative products for cast bullet shooter and have produced some items that were only available from small custom mold makers or gunsmiths, such as push through sizing dies. Then we have NOE who comes along and improves on that product. Both makers should be applauded for their products.

Yeah we get hooked on a certain maker from time to time, and that is fine, because the next guy does the same, but with a different maker. .

As such we should support them all by purchasing their products so them may stay in business. It would be ashamed to lose any of them, because where would we be without them.
