Hello all, To make a long story semi short, a little more than a year ago my father brought me a 5 foot long piece of 304 hexagonal stock and told me to build him a gun with it, I said ok and told him it would have to be a pistol. Well I had been putting it off because of the hex shape, but a month ago they diagnosed my father with Multiple Mioma, so I figured I should get my butt in gear and get the pistol made for him for Christmas. I started working on it 11/14/2017 and finished it today 12/16/2017. to save time I bought the stock pre-shaped and inlet-ed it for the hex barrel and the lock that I designed and built from several other lock designs. Hats off and many thanks to John Lifer [email protected] the engraving,he did a wonderful job and got it done quickly so I could get the pistol done in time for Christmas. You think he will like it?

Well in the last year we have shot it quite a bit, probably 100 or so rounds, It will shoot a 2 1/2' - 3" 4 shot group off hand at 60 feet with patched round balls if we do our part. We haven't tried any other kind of bullets but it shoots fine with round balls and they will go through a treated 2 x 4 at 60 feet.

30carbnut;

Well, I am impressed! I’ll bet it shoots well, too...

That’s a FINE gift for your father!

Happy Holidays to you both!

A VERY FINE PIECE OF CRAFTSMANSHIP.  YOUR DAD WILL BE PROUD TO HAVE IT.

I have  to say that is the first hexagon barrel that I have seen looks good though! Did you rifle the barrel or bored smooth?

That is very sweet of you. I know he will treasure it.

I want to go back to the build thread and especially to the grooving thread. My FIL has an old stock duplicator and a single point rifling machine but neither are in working order yet.

Have yall shot the weapon yet? How she run?
