Hello folks.

We do have a little problem here though. AOL, ATT and Bellsouth don't seem to like us

Could it be we are firearms related.

They keep rejecting emails from us to you. So if you want to join the forum fill out the registration info then

send an email to web10@castbulletassoc.com

and I will bypass the confirmation (just make sure you send it from your registered email account).

I'm looking for the correct top punch number for a Lyman 452423 CB. Can someone help?
Thanks,
Tim

The 452423 a 238gr SWC was designed for use in revolvers, loaded into .45 Auto Rim cases.
Both the 452423 and 452424 have similar meplats, so I "think" a #424 top punch should work.
Thanks for taking the time to check.
Tim

#452423 is one of my favorite bullets. You can use the Lyman recommended 424 top punch, but it just acts as a flat punch, modify any punch in a lathe to be flat, or use the 374 which pushs on the sides of the nose but not the melplate. HTH, Ric

I use a flat punch for my bullets of similar shape (429421 and 454424). IT works perfectly.

My old Lyman Cast Bullet Handbook lists the 424 top punch as the correct one for the 454423 bullet. That's the one I use, and have been using for over 30 years. Incidentally, the 452424 bullet apparently hadn't been offered yet when this handbook was published - it's not listed.
