I'm quite pleased with the accuracy of my new CX 557 308 but quite displeased with it's failure to forcefully eject spent brass--or live rounds. Even with a very brisk operation of the bolt about half the cases don't even clear the ejection port--the ones that do clear the port fall weakly just below it. Removing the bolt and hooking a case under the extractor and then using the case to depress the plunger-type ejector seems to indicate that the spring under the plunger is strong. I called CZ-USA in Kansas and they didn't have much advice other than to recommend sending the gun to them. I hate to do it but but may have to unless someone might have a good idea on what is causing this.
New CZ won't eject

I shipped the gun back to the CZ service center in Kansas City, KS. Their web site says it normally takes 4-6 weeks for turnaround--and that won't start until Jan 2, as the whole place is shut down until then. What a PITA! If I wasn't so impressed with the gun's accuracy the first time out I'd be really pissed. A fault like failure to eject should have been immediately apparent. It makes one wonder what the guy who did the testfiring was thinking.

... first, congrats on owning that cz ..... keep up the spirit, when you get it tuned , you will really like that beauty ...
if you are reasonably comfortable with tools ... you can try a couple simple things ...
first, make sure the extractor is working right .... i would remove the ejector and watch the action of the extractor ... also make sure the extractor is not getting in the way of the ejector action . watch for losing the ejector spring when you take out the ejector plunger .
next, flush out the ejector hole and then see if the ejector slides smoothly in that hole ... i recently had a ruger 77 ejector gall and had to lap the pin and the hole .... if everything looks good, cross fingers, reassemble and try again .
hoping this helps . on a new ruger american 17 hm, the extractor was goofy and i had to polish everything that moved and clearance the moving parts ... about 0.001 ... working perfectly now .... that cz is going to be worth any little nuisance now .
