I am thinking about selling my K31 Swiss and checked out Gunbroker to see how they are priced. One of the rifles listed was a K31 Swiss semi-auto. Pretty rare beast (lol).....

It has been brought to my attention that an experimental semi auto conversion of the Swiss straight pulls was attempted. It's called the "Swiss Rychiger rifle". Here is a link to it on forgottenweapons.com.

I'm really jealous. Two and a half years in Germany, '73 to '76 and I shot 17 rounds (all we were allowed to load in a 20 round magazine "for familiarization". Then, a week later, all weapons in the battery were reassigned by rack number, i.e.: Firing section had numbers 1 - 20, Maintenance section had 21 to 40, Admin section had 41 to 60, etc.
At least after we "familiarized" ourselves with our assigned weapon we knew that they wouldn't blow up in our faces. I never fired my M-16 after familiarization, and didn't know if would work or not.
So much for combat readiness.

Pretty rare indeed... a figment of someone's imagination. Long ago I walked into a newly opened gun shop. On the rack they had a semi auto K-11 for sale. The owner was telling me about it...... once he got done I told him it was a straight pull bolt action and got a rather surprised reaction. I bought it too.... for a substantially reduced price.
